The year 2023-24 has been a successful year for CARADA.We are working with farmers and encouraging them to diversify their crops, adopt integrated farming systems, and practice organic farming. This has been a huge success. We have set up farmer field schools where resource farmers demonstrate various models of farming that are then taken up by other farmers of the region. Farmers are shifting from commercial crops to food crops; vegetables, pulses, oilseeds and millets. Farmer Producer Organizations are being supported to rally the farmers and enable them to market the produce. Thus the entire chain of land preparation, choosing the crop cycle, harvesting, processing and marketing is in the hands of farmers. In a diverse country like India, characterized by a wide range of differences, the social challenges it faces are multifaceted and deeply interconnected. CARADA, an idea conceived two decades ago, has evolved from a youth organisation into a nonprofit organisation that implements projects across various key areas of development, including Livelihoods, Education, Health, and Climate Change & Disaster Risk Reduction.

This year marked a significant milestone for CARADA as a grassroots development organisation, as it successfully executed a total of 07 development projects, the highest number since its inception. CARADA has been conducting ASHA Certification programme under NIOS and NHM Odisha . The ASHA s of different Block participated in series of training programs with the support of CDMO Kalahandi. During this Year the ASHAs of of Junagarh , Jaipatna ,Dharmagarh ,Th.Rampur , Golamunda, Lanjigarh Block of Kalahandi district participated and also certified by NIOS . This achievement is truly noteworthy for us. With the increase in the number of projects, the organisation has also expanded its staff. Furthermore, forging partnerships with new national and state level organisations for sustainable livelihood projects has been another remarkable accomplishment. In this year CARADA had been completed series of capacity building training programs for the Women belongs to SHGs with the support of Odisha Livelihood Mission (OLM). Mitigating the maternal mortality rate and ensure institutional delivery, we have set up Maa Gruhas in selected pockets of the district which occupies better result to cap over the problems among the women while in pregnancy. Through our initiatives and approaches, we have made multidimensional impacts, including improved educational outcomes, increased income from livelihood activities, and enhanced health for girls and women. We have the opportunity to appreciating local institutions, PRIs, Government institutions, Farmer Producer Companies, and its grass root organizations to upscale the endeavor of our thrust and vision of change towards better live and livelihood.
Lastly, we have endeavored to empower communities to tackle the health issues. As a new endeavor, CARADA is currently implementing a project titled "Megha Lift Irrigation Project under Crop Diversification Project. Our projects benefited thousands of people in the areas we operate; we express our immense gratitude to our partners and every stakeholder, especially the welcoming communities who have been an integral part of this journey. We are thankful to all of them.
While child protection, education, and skill building remains the focus, the emphasis is on providing farm based livelihood support to vulnerable households to check migration that takes a heavy toll on children. CARADA has always laid great stress on innovation and set up pilot options for communities and other stakeholders to emulate. This year too our work on the ground is providing direction to communities that are fighting the menace of poverty and climate change. We look forward to challenges as that provides the impetus for us to grow and provide innovative solutions.
